These various theories of Zoonosis have lead to study in the prevention of AIDS.

The Colonialism/Heart of Darkness Theory: Jim proposed this theory Moore in 2000, he suggested that during the 19th and 20th century when Africa was under colonial rule - the Africans were forced into labor camps with poor sanitation, scanty food supply and harsh physical labor. SIV could have infected the weakened immune systems and mutated to HIV. It could have been ingested as a welcome supplement of infected chimpanzee meat. They could have been inoculated with unsterilized needles against smallpox. Many camps employed prostitutes to keep the workers in good spirits - another possibility for transmission. Many men would have died early due to the harsh working conditions i.e., even before the symptoms of AIDS manifested and the ones who did manage to stay alive would not be outstanding from the already sick population. No evidence is left of the medical records, but it is known that close to 50% of the entire population of these camps was wiped out.
The Conspiracy/Man-made Theory: Many believe that the HIV was created as a part of the Biological Warfare program, designed to wipe out black and homosexual people! Sources say that this virus was designed as a part of the Special Cancer Virus Program with the assistance of the CIA. They spread the virus via the smallpox inoculation programme, and to gay men via the Hepatitis B vaccine trials. This theory could not be proved or disproved as there is no evidence to the claim. The one way this theory can be refuted is by considering the fact that this virus was identified in people as far back as 1959.
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE: As AIDS can be sexually transmitted - make certain that your partner and you are tested and free of HIV - promiscuity means death - rectal, genital and oral sex transmits HIV. Both, men and women should think and behave maturely, as they are responsible for a new life, i.e., a child, this promiscuity could spell doom for this innocent life as the HIV passes through the placenta and the umbilical cord to the child via the blood. HIV has also been found in low concentrations in saliva, tears and urine.
When taking or giving blood transfusion it should be determined that the blood and blood products like the lymph/plasma is free of HIV and other infections.
Infection with the AIDS virus leads to Superinfection and consistent Illness. This lead to the 4 stages of HIV infection - The incubation period which does not show any symptoms lasts for 3-4 weeks, then comes acute infection lasting about 28 days with swelling in lymph nodes, sore throat, fever, rashes, muscular pain and sores in the mouth and esophagus. The third stage is with no symptoms which could last from few months to twenty years. The fourth and last stage is when opportunistic infections keep the patient chronically sick due to a weakened immunity.
